Camping may be restricted during workshops and festivals. Check the calendar on the main page for your dates and contact us to check on camping availability. At other times check in at the retreat center to find out what is available and how much it will cost, or what chores need doing in exchange. Current rates are $13 per car or $5 per person per night to camp and $10 per person to stay inside our retreat center. Children are free with parents. Ozark Avalon is both a church and a nature preserve -- you will see wildlife if you are quiet and patient. Please respect the wild flora and fauna. Do not cut any live wood except Honey Locust (thorn tree), which has been declared an invasive species. Do not use area insecticides. First aid and other supplies are at the retreat center. There are also first aid kits at Lake Gaia and the Hidden Meadow. Do not camp within 50 feet of established Fire Rings. Glen Avalon, Wolf Tree Glen and the Cafe are workshop venues. They are not available for personal camping unless the registration team for a particular retreat says otherwise. Recycling is located at the Barn. We have a co-mingled recycling program: please put all glass, food cans, and plastics #1 and #2 in the clear blue "City of Columbia" trashbags at the Barn. Paper items should be burned. All other trash goes in the black "City of Columbia" trashbags. The road to the lake is closed to vehicular traffic. There is no local tow company that will retreive your vechicle from the lake road if you choose to ignore this rule. Composting toilets are located at Frog Bog. An indoor toilet is available at the retreat center. Fresh well water is available at the Frog Bog, on Maypole Hill, and at the northern edge of the Lake Hill.
